Description
Creamy, one-pot turkey sausage pasta loaded with flavor from browned sausage, garlic, tomatoes, and cheese. A perfect weeknight dinner in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb turkey sausage, sliced
12 oz penne or rotini pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add turkey sausage and cook until browned (about 4–5 minutes).
2. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
3. Stir in pasta, chicken broth, heavy cream, and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
4. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked and liquid is mostly absorbed.
5. Stir in mozzarella, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Simmer on low for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and sauce is creamy.
7. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
You can substitute milk or half-and-half for cream. Add spinach or roasted red peppers for extra vegetables. Great for meal prep or freezing.
