Description

Creamy chicken and sausage pasta made in 30 minutes—smoky, cheesy, and comforting. One pot, full flavor. Perfect for weeknight dinners!


Ingredients

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, diced

8 oz smoked sausage, sliced

12 oz penne pasta

2 tbsp olive oil

1 small onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.

2. Add sausage slices to the pot and cook until lightly browned. Add onion and garlic; sauté for 2 minutes.

3. Return chicken to the pot. Add chicken broth, cream, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir in uncooked pasta.

4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes until pasta is cooked.

5. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

6. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

You can substitute rotisserie chicken to save time.

Add chopped spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.

Use spicy andouille sausage for a Cajun twist.
